Is it normal to see past race?

I have always been someone to never consider race in a situation but when someone brings up race into the question I always question why it is mentioned (when it has nothing to do with a person and how they act) in the first place.

I find when someone adds race into a scenario their either a racist or a hypocrite and its worrying me to know I seem to be the only one who never even thinks about how someone's race effects who they are as a human being.

Eg. "Bill punched a black man" I honestly don't see the word 'black' in this sentence when reading because I figure it has nothing to do with the story unless it adds in some serious context changing the sentence such as "The number of hate-crimes in ___ has increased due to a incident where Bill Billington has punched a black man causing brain damage on the street this morning".

Even still I don't find race has anything to do with the situation and I only see it as "Bill punched a man this morning and damaged caused damage to his brain".

Is it normal always see past someone's race in all regards?

did bill punch the black man cause he was black or cause he was an asshole who was coincidentally black?

thats the difference between assault and hate crime

    • I only feel comfortable saying this online

But there is definitely a trend of black people jumping on the race card

In sixth grade someone said I called him a n----- when I didn't even know of that word's existence

I kept laughing at the principal because "how can I tell you if I said it if you can't even tell me what I supposedly said"

I found out later that night what the principal and that kid were talking about

Unfortunately things get called a hate crime when they are not far too often.

    Very normal!

What is the point in bringing up race into things it has nothing to do with? I've never understood why people feel compelled to.

It always seems to be the people who are trying way too hard to be "woke" and always have to make everything about race when race has nothing to do with anything at all, who actually tend to be the most racist, IMO. I've also noticed that those types are usually shitty people in general trying really hard to have some sort of a cause and virtue signal about what great people they are and how they are *totally not racist* (they go on, and on, and on about how much they love and care about other races and how they are not racist; but if you're actually not racist, why do you need to try so hard to convince others and constantly shout it from the mountaintops?), and they usually put on a big show on their social media pages, where that is all they can talk about. Just a pattern I've noticed.

To me, the person constantly obsessing over race and who defines people by their skin color is the one who is at the very least prejudiced.

I can say I use to never think about race but since the political shift (Trump supporters are racist narrative, BLM riots, white privilege debate) I feel that I notice race more than ever and it has made me more prejudice towards some people.

I worked with only black people for years and sometimes it seemed like walking on egg shells not to offend them. They would openly express their opinions on white privilege and supremacy but if I mention something like black crime rates are responsible for profiling blacks they would start yelling they would get very offended and cold shoulder me for a few days. They never pulled punches but wanted me to. Their facebook posts are often "White people always..." "why are white people..." "ever notice white people..."

I have realized that black or white the people that always tend to "stand up to racism" are always the most racist.

I was never racist in my life. Then the Black Lives Matter thing happened last year and I realised that the blacks in our society are the most racist people I have ever come across. It now makes me feel like black people can’t be trusted to be decent civilised people, so now I feel more racist than I ever was.

    • You mean destroying their own city of Baltimore and other cities isn't conducive in showing others they're good honest citizens? Who woulda thunk 🤔

You're reading too much into it. It's just a descriptor. It would be the same thing as saying "Bill punched a tall guy with blonde hair". Skin color is a very easy and obvious identifier. That's it.

People who protest racism are racist asf for considering race something that should even being a thing in this day and age. Tribalism is nothing but a scourge.

It’s just like many feminists are woman haters, making woman look weak. It’s only their individual self they’re trying to validate and con the system for.

And the general sjw types seem to want to control people in order to not feel like just another person on the street. They come across essentially as Hitler if he had no discipline and a learning disability.
