Is it normal to see/hear more than one voice/person in your head???

well, im not sure how it started, but i just recently have created two people over time (that i've been hearing argue in my head),you know, giving them faces also, and now i see them and they've been arguing like crazy and im stuck in the middle of it some how. i used to do it just to deal with emotions and conflicts but its out of control. Its your typical good girl (amber) vs. bad girl (rachel) before it was only rachel. now there's two and i can't balance it out and there tearing apart my head!!! I cant seem to make them both happy.its like i have to get rid of me to make them happy...what is this?!?!

This is called schizophrenia (I hope I spelt that right) If you are a young adult it is very likely to develop this especially if you have been suppressing emotions. You should go see a doctor and talk to them. People end up taking meds for it. Sorry to hear this.

Not normal. Go to your local community mental health center. You are describing psychotic symptoms which may be signs of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Therapy and medication can help. If you are a teen or a young adult, just know that symptoms of psychotic disorders usually present themselves at that age range--and it only gets worse without treatment. Please get some help. You'll thank yourself later.

I don't think it's schizophrenia, if you don't actually hear the voices.

The meds fuck your head up more than the voices.. Deal with it through therapy not medication. Remember you created them, you can make them go away. Its YOUR mind :]

This is bad advice. As a therapist, I can assure you that therapy alone does not treat these symptoms effectively. Yes, medication can have risks and side-effects (and often, a patient must try several medications before they find one that works well) but there are some great antipsychotic meds out there that can work wonders if taken as prescribed. I have seen many success stories when medication and therapy are combined. Without meds, a patient is likely to decompensate further and further.
