Is it normal to see/have invisible friends?

I have imaginary friends and everyone says I'm crazy. They're all different with distinct personalities, my one friend thinks I have more then one personality because of this! My family thinks I'm crazy. My teachers at school think I'm crazy. Am I really crazy, or am I believing what they say?

I have paranoid schizophrenia ( Hello NiceKitty ;] ) and when I heard voices they felt like real people with personalities of their own. I miss them. I got treatment early so the voices never progressed to the point of hearing them constantly and having them comment on things I did, especially not in a negative way. I even named two of them.

  • Its normal unless you are actually seeing and hearing them. Theres a big difference between imagination and hallucination.

It depends. Are they more like mental coaches? Or are they like voices in your head? Because the former is fairly normal. It's not unusual for people to create some kind of character to pep talk them when they're feeling down (usually old role models, but also sometimes fictional characters). But it's probably not a good idea to talk to said imaginary people in public though.

Other than that, it's really no different from talking to yourself or talking to your pet.

I have paranoid schizophrenia, and multiple personalities which is very strange to me, but anyways it's normal for me. I see people that 'arent' there everyday.
    Your not crazy.
Something traumatic could have happened to you while you were younger, you could have been put down a lot whatever the case may be, your brain handled it in the only way it could to cope.
Which is not your fault, YOU as a person are not crazy.

Or you have a wild imagination ;]

I have imaginary friends too. It doesn't mean you're crazy, just creative. Imaginary friends are a great coping mechanism when you feel lonely and keep you company in your daydreams.

I miss the imaginary friends I had when I was a kid. Best friends I ever had, plus they took the blame for everything!
