Is it normal to see black widow like spiders in big bear?

There are spiders like these that use to hide in the cabin I lived at in big bear. They use to hide between the cracks of the tiles. If you scraped your finger under they would fall off and crawl away. They never attacked us or even came in for that matter. I believe they might have just been hiding from the cold. They are all black and have huge butts like a back widow but no red dot on the butt. I know that black widow males are much smaller than the females so I dont know if that is what they were. Does anyone have any idea what type of spider this is?

Big Bear is a mountain community and skiing area about 100 miles north east of L.A. And if the big black spider does not have the red hourglass mark, it isnt a Black Widow. The male spiders are real small in comparison to the females. Only the females have the hourglass mark. And by the way, Big Bear has Black Widows.
