Is it normal to secretly feel that being gay is wrong

Lots of people think the way you do. I think there's even a religious group in the States which tries to "cure" gay people.

But it's like anything; once you attempt to deviate people from the behaviour that seems most natural to them, you cause them all sorts of unforeseen problems.

In Victorian times they used to force left-handed children to write with their right hand as left-handedness was seen as an aberration or just wilful behaviour. Problem is, they didn't realise left-handed children are more often than not left-eye dominant too. First they got problems with visual perception, then balance issues, and later social and mental issues as the imbalance started to permeate all areas of their life. Something as simple as handedness is linked to all kinds of things. Imagine how much truer that is of sexuality.

Alternatively, how would you feel if you lived in a society that wanted to cure you of your straightness and forced you to sleep with your own gender? Whatever horror you feel about that is exactly how a gay person would feel if you imposed exactly the same thing on them.

Is it normal? Yes.

Is it good? No.

Homosexuals are just like you and me. The only difference is they are sexually attracted to their own gender. There is nothing wrong with that at all. As to Christianity, Jesus absolved his disciples of the prohibitions made in the Old Teatament (which include homosexuality). Christians eat pork and shrimp, but that was cancelled out in the christian religious tradition because Christ wanted it so.

I think alot of gay people do try being straight first and realize it isn't their natural condition. Take it from someone who's struggeled with their sexuality for years, I tried forcing myself to be straight and it was miserable. People are happiest in their natural condition, whether it's abnormal or not.

I'd say you're normal for having such thoughts though. So long as you don't hate people for being gay, there's nothing wrong with disagreeing about their lifestyle.

I think some people turn gay after a real bad experience with the opposite sex.

Homophobia is normal

I'm gay, and I think being gay is wrong. Think about it. Why would God create people who are not hardwired for life's natural purpose. I can only imagine as an example, though we do exist for a purpose. And if you're an evolution person, how could that trait survive generations upon generations? And how could it effect more people? I have felt truly regretful each time I've had a gay experience because I did something I knew was wrong. I'm not going to try to tell anyone else how to live their lives, but I can't do it. It is wrong and I can't accept myself as something so wrong. I believe that I was born gay as test from God, and I must resist my bad urges.
