Is it normal to rip the first piece of toilet paper off before wiping?

To best honest - I never done that and to think about it - I must start doing it.

I do this at public places but not in my own home.

Me too! Instinct, I just do it but I don't know why.

I do that in every public restroom I have to use but I usually rip off more than just one piece. I know it is wasteful but you don't know what it touched!

i'd say ur probably a little OCD but yea. one time at work i found a freakin fly smashed in between the two ply!!! it was so gross you could see each leg, the wings, and even a little orange smudge right beside it where the guts squooshed out!! you could tell it was from the manufacturer. now i always inspect the paper before i wipe. thank God i saw that one!!!!!!!!!!!
