My current boyfriend often removes the shower head and puts the nozzle into his ass. After a moment, he then squats over the toilet and releases a shower of water and poo. He says this cleans his ass properly, but i don't know.

That's not particularly healthy. It removes the waste, yes, but get can get rid of healthy bacteria needed to maintain health.
I got talked into having a colonic irrigation once by a friend who raved about it. It was particular unpleasant while it was being set up and I began to think I was the victim of an elaborate practical joke. That bit wasn't too bad. Kind of tickly and not unpleasant. But it was after it was over that was the interesting bit.
I felt like I'd lost weight, was walking on air, felt incredibly healthy, and just had a general feel of wellbeing. It's difficult to describe but it's really rather good.
