Is it normal to remain close friends with your ex?

If you've ever lived common-law with someone or been married, but now you are not (you split up). Is it normal to still be good friends with your ex and like them as a person but feel zero desire for them? They just sort of act like family around one another. Sort of like brother and sister. is That normal?

I've seen this a few times. After a couple have been married or living together for a number of years, they lose any sexual attraction for each other - so all they have left is the friendship. If one or both are attracted to other people, they will not look back at their 'brother/sister' with any lust, it's all gone, years ago!!

    Better than normal :)
This is how we all should act, both willing.

Honestly, I don't think you can be friends with exes. I mean if this is the case with you than that is more than great. But I find it rather uncomfortable.
