Is it normal to receive "good" advice?

What's the best advice you've ever been given and how did it differ from advice you thought was total crap?

The best piece of wisdom I've ever been given is that life gets easier to manage and less overwhelming by your late twenties. It was given to me by a friend in her mid thirties when I was 22 years old. She was so right! What I liked most about her, though, is she made me feel understood before she dished me some of her reassurance. The bulk of advice from other people felt too pushy like they weren't really listening to what I was telling them and they just wanted to hear the sound of their own voice. Not Bea, she was wonderful!

I really don't think that is really accurate. I hate lazy inconsiderate people but I try too hard at practically everything. That does not show I am lazy.

Given the abundance of mildly shitty advice, sometimes it's not normal to receive ground-breakingly good advice.

This is one quote I was told: "What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day in your life for it"
