It's not as crazy as it sounds. A girl farting is one of those things that is rare in out society that it can have power.

One of the major milestones in a romantic relationship is often he point at which the girl first farts in front of the guy. Unless she is the kind of girl who just freely farts around her friends (I know a few), a girl being comfortable enough tells a lot, since girls farting is like the ultimate thing "ladies" don't do (even more than going #2, which is odd since #2 is in every way grosser).

Also, if a girl has never farted in front of you, curiosity is totally normal. Does it sound like a normal fart? Is it like a man fart where the smell ranges from not really anything to "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!" How can it not smell like roses if it is a girl? It's not weird to wonder these things.

Now, once it happens, if you then find yourself trying to be around farting girls as much as possible, then that is not so normal (but we'll cross that bridge when we get there).
