There's this fantastic YouTube video by a fantasy animator from Brighton called cyriak. It's called "something" and it's very good. No, it really is called "something". Don't be put off by the video name, it isn't boring at all, it's very exciting and innovative! I don't know why he couldn't think of a name for it, I can think of a dozen good names for this masterpiece.

I absolutely love it. The animation and effects used on it are breathtaking, I greatly recommend it to lovers of interesting fantasy sequences. It must have taken such a long time to come up and create such an experience, it will seriously make you open your eyes, I've never seen anything like it in my life. It's like all of the best parts of the Pixar films squeezed into one and a half minutes.

But is it normal to like this video so much? Because a few of the people watching it aren't too sure about it, some find it a bit too much to bear (I can't really see why to be honest, it's fantastic, even if it is a bit surreal at times).

See for yourself and see what you think before you decide if this is normal. Is it normal to think so highly of this short video? Because I think it's one of the best on the whole website!

    No, do not sully Tim Burtons good name in comparing that crap to his work.
    Tim Burton is classy and elegant with the majority of his work.
    This was classic horror house optical illusion bullshit.
    See many of the Nightmare on Elm St. Movies.
    While I love NOES movies I in no way think they are any kind of creative, artistic genius.

    I don't get whats so great about the effects either... i mean, they're probably hard to make, but they still look pathetically pointless.

    I liked it, the effects/animation is really good. It's enjoyable in the same way that Eraserhead is.

    Aw come on guys, sure I guess it is pretty surreal and creepy but just look at the animation on it! Actually, it is extremely creepy. Enormously, disturbingly creepy. But I still goddamn love it, it's a resounding success in abstract video design. It's the type of thing Tim Burton would want for his movies.

      It's like a lot of freaky stuff, faces twisting and stuff. Not for the squeemish or faint hearted, but meh it was nothing special

      It's a video where lots of people's heads grow lots of extra eyes and mouths on really tall, mutating stalks and they all eventually twist into strands of DNA covered with endless mouths and eyes. It's like if Pixar did a horror film. Great animation but very scary.
