Tonight, I suddenly realized that vast majority of the users of this site are teenagers or younger! Is it normal? Also, is it normal that I feel let down that I will rarely see a mature question or response? And that you are supposed to be 18 or older to sign up?
I see your point. Teenagers, even if they are trying to be mature and helpful, typically just do not have enough life experience yet to give truly helpful advice and it shows in their questions and responses.
But, they are the most tolerant generation of people so far and I love them for that.

yeah unfortunately... there are so many sites like this that are meant for children/teens so i wonder why they have to come here when it specifically says 18+ to join... at least some of them try to act mature tho.
I think a lot of the emotional advice on how to handle bf / gfs is very immature but that's only due to inexperience. The best thing you can do is check the profile of a person - although time-consuming.
I agree with you though, I'm in my 40s but use the site to try to understand where my teenager is coming from.
ya im 18 years old. I think mostly of the users at this site are curious. When they are in their teens thats when they really wounder if they are normal.
At the end of the day..its not just teenagers that are trolling around giving out bad responses/questions. I feel like most of the adults here are trolling and maybe the teens are the ones posting up the same stories. Hmm...not to mention the fact there are a decent amount of young people that do care and give out well thought out and genuine answers.
At first I assumed most users were older. I am 28 and after I started asking questions I realized that the average user was far younger than me.
I believe that this site could be very helpful for teenagers when they ask questions. But when they try to give their own say on something, it may not be helpful at all. And teenagers are usually much more likely to be biased towards certain questions, and not give a well thought out response. Don't take it as a surprise that this site is largely populated by teenagers, no teenager would listen to a site that says, "you must be 18 or older."
Its true, I didn't notice when I first joined but I think teenagers make up a larger proportion now.
I think you're right. I'm still a teen until January.
This is an 18+ site, but a lot of the younger posters seem mature. Except the ones who try so hard to get noticed or make up ridiculous, obviously fake stories.
The mentally deficient, rude, and asinine are also present. But there's also the "trolls", the comedians, the honest, and the reasonable.
Don't get so focused on the negative that you forget to see all the good things here =)
