Is it normal to read in the sun at an apartment complex?

What is your take on using common areas when the weather is nice in an apartment complex? My balcony doesn't face or get the sun at all. I enjoy being outside, but feel so odd because I no one else sits outside. Is it weird to use a beach chair and read? Where is the appropriate location if there is no pool or if people do not clean up after their dog on every occasion? Thanks for any clarity you can share.

    I'd feel uncomfortable sitting outside a building reading. I'd probably choose to go to the park or something instead.

    One time I wondered why nobody climbs trees and reads books up there any more so I did that, but two kids came along with a dog and were so freaked out by the idea, they ran away. Even the dog was spooked. Maybe that's why people don't climb trees any more.

    Anyway, yes, park.

      if they find out you can climb trees, they'll come find you at odd times and ask you to get things out of trees for them. seen it a million times.

    I go down to the pool area at my apartment complex to read quite often! The atmosphere is nice, the water smells good and the sun is on me in my beach chair. Can you imagine a better environment to sit and enjoy a good book?

    It's normal. But if I lived in a apartment building, I would never go on the balcony if I could help it.
