Is it normal to react to weed like this or did i smoke something else?

I went out with some friends just after I'd quit smoking. After a few drinks (a rum & coke and a few of glasses of wine), I caved in to the fags, went outside and got a rollie (I thought) off this bloke. Anyway, I smoke it and within a very short time I am all over the place, I can't give you many details to start with because I don't remember much until I came to on the pavement with my husband getting me in a taxi. We go home, a friend makes me a cup of tea and I start going insane. I have no idea what I was talking about or doing except I remember thinking my cat had poisoned claws and was trying to attack (kill?) me. I think I passed out, they called an ambulance and I went to the hospital talking nuts and bolts to the ambulance people, I remember staggering round the ward a bit then waking up and going home, I wasn't spiked because they tested my blood, I don't remember if I had anything psychiatric done like an evaluation, I can handle my drink, I didn't have that much and also we were out for a meal, I just don't know what happened.

Does THC show up on those tests, the only thing I can think is that I went on some massive whitey, I don't remember the rollie tasting of weed but then there is a lot I don't remember but it did taste odd, I smoke follies so I'm used to the taste. But why would he just give me that and anyway weed doesn't send you on a bad trip like that? Or was it something psychotic? Has anyone got any ideas?
