Is it normal to rapidly bounce your leg?

When sitting at a desk i tend to subconsciously rest one or both of my feet on the front of the soul and tow's and rapidly bounce them up and down. People ask me all the time if i need the toilet, but it has nothing to do with that. I generaly like bounceing my leg or legs up and down. It helps me think straight. Is this normal? Dose anyone else do this?

I do this all the time without even thinking about it. My dad does too. Drives my mom and sister nuts.

Don't be ashamed of your twitchy habit, you can burn calories without even thinking about it!

Doing it right now. I think it's something about not being able to sit still. My sister does it too, though. I think it's perfectly normal. People who hang around you enough will get to know that it's just something you do :)

I do it in class all the time. I guess it helps me concentrate too. Honestly, I don't even realize I'm doing it half the time unless I drop my pen or chance to look down.

    This is normal.

Many people fidget when sitting in a chair or at a desk. If you can still pay attention and class and don't otherwise have any problem, then it's fine. Sometimes this is a sign of anxiety/ADHD or just a nervous habit.

ALL, THE, TIME. I do it in a pretty comlex rhythm, and it only happens when I'm wearing shoes and on a hard floor...I guess it's more like dancing in a chair. It helps me listen more than think, though.

It's called RLS, look it up all you people that are severely irritated, it's usually caused by sleep deprivation.

Oh, I should mention that the consumption of caffeine (I'm a serious coffee drinker) makes the problem much worse.

Very common. I do a variation of this. It all started when I took up playing drums 15 years ago. As it turned out, I was a natural at it...but the downside is that I tap on everything as if I were playing a full drum kit. A couple years ago I started playing double bass. As you can imagine, my friends and coworkers hate me more than ever now.
