Is it normal to put your boogers on random things?

I noticed when I was younger that my grandmother would stick her boogers in random places. Then once I got a bit older I wanted to paint my room. (age 10) That's when I noticed i had a few booger stashes. I had tons of them on the wall, under the bed, etc. They were mainly in places where I spent a lot of time.

And now as an adult sometimes i catch myself putting boogers in places then shouldn't be. I do it without noticing, but once I notice I clean it up of course.

I don't like the fact that I do it. I don't even notice that I do it most of the time. But it's gross and I don't want anyone to come visit and think I enjoy collecting boogers.

I was thinking maybe it's genetic. Maybe it's connected to nerves or something.
