Is it normal to put salt on licorice?

I just came home from a date I had with this guy... We we're at his place and he had a box of black licorice. I mean the fact that he even had black licorice was a little off-putting to me, it's an aquired taste that I don't care too much for. Anyways, as he takes one out to eat, he takes his salt shaker and salts the thing before popping it into his mouth.

Do people do this? Is salted licorice a thing? He's sent me a message on FB asking if I was interested in hanging out again and my answer is kind of resting on this. I know I sound shallow and judgmental, but I can't help it!

    Scary. I had a dream very much like this once and I even got to taste the weird salty licorice. It tasted like some sweets my Dutch family brought over when I was a kid.

    normal. people and animals love salt. I put pepper on cantaloupe
    maybe we should all just get a saltlick already :-P

    salt on licorice is fucking disgusting. but you shouldn't not date him because of this. how would you like it if he didn't date you because you like butter on toast for example? it may be disgusting to you and me, but it's pretty shallow not to date him further because of this. you sound like you need to grow up a little bit.
