Is it normal to put extra salt in chocolate chip cookies?
When I make chocolate chip cookies I always put in roughly double the salt. I love having a small salty taste present along with the sweetness of the cookie. IIN?

I did this once. It was so delicious I couldn't help myself. Then my blood pressure got so high I punched the daylights out of my wife. She's okay now though.
Maybe try some sea salt? It seems that and Himalayan salt are very popular these days.
well no not for me its not, i don't like eating alot of salt that extra for me would probably ruin it all then i couldn't eat the lovely cookies you have made just for me.
I really try to keep my salt intake down but this is definitely the kind of thing I'd do. I was talking to someone about porridge the other day and was saying how I like it both salty and sweet at the same time. It's just a really nice combination of flavours. I actually made chocolate chip cookies on Sunday night (which didn't turn out well. Grrr!) and they were way too sweet. If I'd dialled down the sugar and added a pinch of salt, I'd have liked them a lot more. I'll probably do this next time. Thank you, OP! :)
Hmm, I don't know, I've never tried it. I do put a bit of salt in chocolate milkshake. Not enough for it to be obvious, though.
