Is it normal to put baking soda, water, oil on face to stop acne

Recently I've tried the combination of baking soda, water and oil mix it then put it on my face leave it for 20 minutes then wash it off. If had acne for 4-5 year now and I'll do anything for it to go away. I've used proactiv (didn't work) clearasil, neutrogenia. Does anyone eles use this combination, IIN, and did/does it work for you.

If your acne is because of hormones, genetic etc.. Then stop what you're doing and go see a dermatologist. Tell him your history with acne and previous medication. I used to be like you, tried every homemade face wash. Some made my face even worse, especially olive oil and sugar. Neutrogena, clearasil, micro technology cleansing is all bullshit. If you have the patience, then you can go ahead and try every trick in the book but know that with the right medication, your face will clear up in a months time. More if you accumulated acne scars.

I would have thought oil may make it worse. Have you tried sudocream at all? Also drinking lots of water.

Try changing your diet too. Drink more water. Experiment with cutting things out like meat, dairy, sugar. Give it a few weeks to see if it improves. And don't over-wash your face. That won't help. And witch hazel is good. Look up Thayers.

I've not tried that, but I can see how it would work, I think. The baking soda cleanses, and the oil replenishes. What sort of oil are you using, though?

I found the trick to mine was cleansing, spraying my face with neroli water or witch hazel, then putting a moisturiser mixed with a few drops of a special oil (though I suppose I could just use a base oil) on while my face is still wet.
