Is it normal to pull a prank like this?

I have a friend whos always trying to get weed and get people to front him weed. He kept asking me to give him this guys number who sells weed even after I told him he doesnt want his number given out. Anyways last night he asked me again for the weed dealers number so I have him this other guys number who I know. This guy was in on the joke and pretended to be the drug dealer and told him to just come over and walk on in. So then my friend went to the drug dealers house and walked on in like he was told and the drug dealer thought he was an intruder and punched him in the face and knocked a tooth out. My friend is now mad at me for this but I was just trying to teach him a hard lesson about keep asking me to find him drugs.
