Is it normal to pretend to be in a relationship?

We declair ourselves as 'just friends' but we act as if we're a couple, i.e: holding hands, arms around eachothers waist in public, kissing, professing love (verbaly), talking about marriage together, tender touching (nothing sexual, for the most part), making out, telling eachother how much we miss the other, ect. But when people say, "where's your boyfriend/girlfriend", we'll both glance to eachother and say "she/he's not my girlfriend/boyfriend", or laugh it off with, "when did we start dating??". Or something of the other. Is this normal? We're both about to turn 20, btw. And we don't see the situation as a 'friends-with-benifits' type deal, or 'sex buddies'. We havn't had sex yet, we're both respectful of eachother. We're friends .. but more then friends???

Sounds like you're both afraid of commitment. You obviously like eachother. Try going out if it doen't work just stay friends.

agreed, you said haven't had sex YET. So you're hoping to someday. Truth is that you secretly want each other, badly.
