Is it normal to pretend my childhood happened earlier?

i grew up in the mid to late nineties. i have to say the years up until 2000 were some of the best of my life. there was amazing cartoons on TV, good movies, and i grew up near the end of it. the rest of my child hood was scum full of crap on TV, everyone afraid of terrorism.
when i look back on it, i bump back the dates and pop culture to 1993 where i felt was at it's best. i have to say i associate better with that time period than i did in my own. i talk about sega genesis, sonic the hedgehog, cartoon network, dragonball and stuff like that. all of it i was young enough to remember, but too young to own / watch all the time. is it normal to repress part of your childhood and fill it in with better stuff?

Wish I was born earlier so I could of experienced more of the 90's. Mainstream music and cartoons suck ass now, I feel sorry my sister actually has to go through her childhood with this crap.

I'm the exact same way, my friend. :D
The culture of today is just shit compared to what we knew it as.. everything was more original and people actually TRIED to entertain us. Here and now, people fall for any stupid reality show. It's almost as if the average IQ of the kids today dropped massively because of society..
    I miss the 90s..

Me too. It was a time where there was less worry. Us kids could play outside until past dark on a school night. We could eat more things and drink caffeinated drinks and no one would say a thing. No worries. I miss it.
