Is it normal to prefer shopping alone?

Whenever I go shopping for anything, (food, clothes, etc) I prefer to be alone. Whenever somebody else is with me I feel like I can't spend time in all the stores I want, and I'm always concerned about whether or not they want to be there. I also don't buy all the things I really want because I don't want to hear people's comments about them. When I shop alone I don't have to worry about any body else's schedule or opinion, and I can buy whatever I want and take as long as I want.

    im exactly the same! if i was to go with someone else, i go back another day on my own to get my own shopping

    I am a social lady, but I know your point well. Sometimes going to a movie or going for a meal alone ect is really called for...

    I hate shopping for clothes with others. I don't want to hear their opinions on me being on the wrong side/not wanting to conform to their ideals of how I should dress, or disbelief on how much I've grown and must buy different sizes in clothing. It's maddening enough having to worry if the store clerks are going to give me a hard time.

    With my clothes, I now will either order them through the mail or have someone call them in. It is definitely less the hassle

    With groceries, I always shop with my relative, who does the shopping for my mother. While she hasn't done it in awhile, she used to nitpick what I had in my cart when we were at the check out line. It is very embarrassing to have someone demand to know if you really need something, if you have ever tried it, etc.

    Yes. I HATE shopping with other people. My family goes shopping at Wal-mart or wherever, but we always go separate ways.

    When my cousin lived with us, she insisted on shopping with me. She stayed in the same part of the store for the entire shopping trip! It made me mad. I like to browse through different things...

    I only shop alone now. I think it's better because I can take a few minutes in every section that I like to browse through.

    I like shopping alone as well and for the same reasons. The thing is try not to worry what other people think when you do shop with them and buy what you want! I have been trying that lately and honestly it has made shopping with others a lot more fun. I still like shopping alone though!
