Is it normal to predict something will happen years before it occured

About 7 years ago i claimed that C.E.R.N will have a major meltdown and then a few years later it actually happened, I just had a good feeling it will because they were obviously trying to"split an atom"

    They split atoms every day in nuclear power-plants. They don't have meltdowns. Well not most - give or take the occasional disaster which has seen us all exposed to more radiation and eating it in our food chains.
