Is it normal to poop while standing ?

Actually the common western method of sitting on a toilet is one of the most unnatural and abnormal ways to lay a steamer, leading to increased strain and haemorrhoids. The most natural and easy position is apparently to crouch as though plopping one into a ditch in the ground. As for standing, I have no idea but I would assume it is messy.
