Is it normal to play extended games that affect your whole life?
When I was in college I lived in house with 2 roommates plus a rotation of other couch-crashers and friends over all the time. At one time, we (me and my roommates) instituted a rule that all speech uttered in and around the house, as well as written communication, had to be a quote from a book or song (no movies). There were a couple rules. You had to be able to prove it if someone asked you to. If a person wanted to challenge another person's quote, they didn't have to use a quote themselves, rather just say something like, "Proof" or "Prove it." There was an exception for emergencies. If you lost the challenge, you had to drink a beer.
I'm not really asking if anyone played this exact game because we were all writers and musicians so I think it was specific to our friend group. Did anyone else play an extended game with their roommates or friends that was anything like this? As in, a game that affects the way you live your life and over a long period of time (months) and with a large group of other people?
