Is it normal to pee in the shower?

I AM NOT TALKING WHILE SHOWERING EITHER, just to make that clear up front. Ever since my last illness, I have been finding it harder to keep my balance so I have been peeing in the shower instead of in the toilet. I wasn't showering but using the shower as a urinal doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.

My fiance and I aren't the cleanest people around but I go the extra mile to make sure I clean up when I do finally shower before going to bed. So is it okay to just pee in the shower and pretend that it is a urinal?

    • We had that too at some point. I still remember the saying over the radio at the time...

"If it's yellow, let it mellow
If it's brown, flush it down."

Of course that was years ago and I have stopped listneing to the radio since then.

It seems that no one paid attention to WHY the OP was peeing in the shower. He has MS. MS is unpredictable and because of its very nature, his story makes sense.

We all have a covering over our nerves/neurons, called myelin. MS destroys the myelin and so the nervous system becomes like uninsulated and damaged wiring that fails to carry accurate and consistent messages from the body to the brain and vice versa. This means that OP has his good days and his bad days. Some days he'll be able to use the toilet properly, while others he won't. When he's having a bad day, something as simple as lifting the toilet seat may mean the difference between making it or not. It's not just coordination that's affected. Bodily functions don't always get the message, either.

So give the OP a break. He's dealing with something most of us will never confront. I say that in his situation, peeing in the shower is understandable and I can't fault him for it.

    • Thank you, thank you so much. You explained this problem much better than I could have. It really is difficult to pee in the toliet at night and I would rather not miss the toliet to clean it up later. It is fine though, I don't wake "Loverofbunnies" when I pee in the shower as I do when I pee in the toliet.

I pee in the shower all the time. It conserves energy because you dont have to flush the toliet! :]

if you rinse the tub after you're done peeing, then its ok. but if you leave urine sitting there all day.. that's fucked up.

    Bud - I come from a medical/law enforcement/defence family, so it's amazing what you pick up. :)

Also, I suffer fibromyalgia (and other things), which (like MS) is "invisible", and so because I LOOK okay, people don't understand just how debilitating some things can be. It can be incredibly frustrating, to say the least. So often I've fought the urge to say to rude people, "I had no idea you were my doctor!"

Some people are just arseholes. :(

Bud, please stop overusing that dumbass "tard" thing you seem to like so much. It's neither amusing nor is it insulting, and each time you say it (every post), you only make yourself appear more moronic than before.

Not OK to do this !
Here is what will happen if you keep that up:
    1. you will stain your shower
    2. the smell of pee will adhere to the tiles
    3. you will mentally calibrate yourself to pee in every shower you find.
I suggest you try to find a toilet / urinal as much as possible.
    good luck !

  • To clarify, it is easy to sit on the toliet normally but try it when you can't feel your ass. I have fell off the toliet a few times and it is rather sad to clean up the seat when you can't feel the hole and poop all over the seat when you didn't know better.

I will not poop in the shower though, just pee but I was stating a point.

You are absolutely disgusting. If you cant balance standing in front of the toilet, how would having to balance in front of the shower be any easier? And why did Bethany pee in a cup?
That is plain revolting. I think you should give your baby to someone who has decent standards of living, as you two obviously dont.

      • I am not going to argue with you. However, you should feel at least secure with the knowledge that we won't let the child suffer during next year's sacrifice cerimony.

Praise the Church of the Gerbil.
        --------------

Seriously though, like you never made a mistake or had a problem. I finished one arguement but I am in no mood to start another with you as the target. Leave me alone.

This is disgusting, and not just because I don't like you. What is the difference in where you stand up to pee? There is a problem with treating a shower as a urinal. The problem is that it's a shower, not a urinal. If I found out my boyfriend did this, there would be big trouble. But then again, my boyfriend is a clean and very decent person.

When you all have your baby, you're going to eventually be giving him/her baths. I sincerely hope you sanitize that bathtub thoroughly beforehand or better yet, move out of that apparent dump that you're living in.

          • What baby? We already aborted it.

            -----------

Seriously lets bash one of your stories. Oh wait, I can't as you don't LIST any. I have already admitted before you that I was wrong so there is no point in bitching except to argue, which is pointless at this point.

It is nice to see that you are so desperate for attention and so desperate for your own line of thinking that you pick a fight by AGREEING with my final conclusion. And that is truly sad.

Congradulations on finding another one of my stories, at least I am contributing though. It is just that I ALREADY admitted I was wrong and you are being both a copy cat and enjoy beating a dead horse.

I have no idea what you just said.

You asked if it was normal to pee in the shower, and I said I thought it was not normal, and it's gross.

  • No point in keeping my "identity" secret now as I have to explain myself and those who look for or through my comments might be dumb but they aren't THAT dumb.

For a while, dealing with that particular MS attack made it harder to do certain things and I could go on and on about them but all in all, it was that I didn't care. I saw peeing into the drain part of the shower no different than peeing in the toliet as 95% of the urine goes straight down and it is mostly clear as I drink a great deal of liquid.

Just yesterday my fiance read my comments and she said the exact following.
"Ew, you do that? You know it will stink up the room."

Just like I am often handicap and have a wheelchair tag that I could use all of the time, I often don't out of the fear of taking away from those who can't when I am fine at that particular time.

    -------------

I've already admitted that I am wrong and it isn't something that I would do at someone elses house. At my own though, I don't care that much and it doesn't bother me. Loverofbunnies I have personally seen pee in a cup as she was truly afraid of my old apartment and the mold that I could not control so it wasn't exactly a big thing.

(WE NEVER DRANK OUT OF THOSE CUPS AGAIN, except that ONE time but it ended right after that time.)

However, this is no longer a problem but I was just curious. As Loverofbunnies is bother by it, I will respect her and stop but in my own house, I still don't see the problem.

"[We] aren't the cleanest people around..." causes me concern and slight alarm. If you insist on peeing where you wash, make sure to scrub the shower after each usage.

    • Why? I don't eat off the shower floor and when I bathe, the water is not exactly clean either. Plus, nobody actually takes a bath where I live.

I would rather have someone pee in the shower tub and be quiet instead of waking me up by peeing in the toilet and then flush.

Why is your dwelling so unsanitary? You say the water isn't clean and no one bathes.

        • No, we don't take baths as we shower instead. However, I see your point. However, do we eat off the bathtub floor though?

          But, I see your point.
