Is it normal to pause my head ache?

I get really bad headaches and migraines so I've tried many things to try and cure them. But the only sure fire way of stopping it is to hold my breath and thoughts! Have a totally blank mind and body! Trouble is I can't do this for more than 20 seconds. is it normal to be able to pause my headache by holding my breath and does anyone know a better method?

I can get rid of headaches by a special breathing technique i made up. I breathe in deeply through my nose and exhale out my mouth. I picture the cool air coming in and gathering up the pain, then I blow it out my mouth. Works every time.

This only works for some people but if you spread your thumb and index finger apart and you get that webbed fatty like part massage that on both of your hands but not too hard and you have to be able to feel it. Hope it works, but do you have something against taking medication because you can go to any store and get the generic brand of migraine medication for a low price (the generic brands usually work better).

Do you know the trigger? I don't get them nearly as often now that I know some of my triggers. Although they sometimes come out of nowhere. I usually ask my husband for a scalp massage to get the blood moving and that stops it for a while.
