Is it normal to own a house, but not live in it?

I own a home and everything I have is in it, but I don't live in it. My pets and I with my best friend in her house.

I check on my house everyday to make sure no one's been in it and I also check the surveillance system daily as well. I take what I need from there and I go about my day.

Is this normal?

Why don't you rent it out and get some income from it? Having said that I did the same for about 2.5 years with my house (long story which I wont go into). So kinda normal.

Sell it of you're not going to live in it.

I think it's fairly normal, if your only choices are living with a friend and living in a house alone (besides pets) I think that if you dont wanna be lonely you're doing the right thing. I'd say move in with your friend proper and rent out your house so you can get some money from it, rather than let it just sit there =3

May be you should just rent your house and move altogether into your friend's house. Do it before some crappy teenagers use your abandoned home to get high or to make out.

  • If you're well off then sure. My uncle has two homes and only lives in the other when he feels like it.

  • If you are intimate with your friend, then I think that sort of thing is normal and many people do that.

How does your friend feel about it? Has she ever told you?
