Is it normal to over analyse things

I find that when i think something is wrong with me/ my friends/ my life i end up having to draw conclusions and analyse everything. I can't just face the fact i have a problem, but instead have to have an answer to every question. For example, i can't just feel tired, it must be because I'm overworked. Or, my friend only wrote "hi" instead of "Hello" on msn because he cannot really be bothered to talk to me, so is writing in as few letters as he can. Sometimes i don't realise that I'm being irrational until my friends point out that I'm constantly over analysing things. I could give about 4 different interpretations of what each sentance someone says means. I just look too deeply into things.

Analyzing life deeply gives answers and can help finding the right solution to problems. In that sense, its only beneficiary if you can analyse many situations properly. Over analysing is only a problem if it really prevents you from having a normal social life and stable emotional state.

it's a mental habit that only you can break. If you are analysing something like the number of letters in a hi or a hello it's going too far and the habit will get worse till you start having some control over your mind. I have this habit and in the end it is exhausting and fruitless. I am trying to stop overanalysing things and instead have a more peaceful mind. It isn't easy but it is worth it. Mindfulness meditation seems like a good option. Best of luck.

    haha thank you :)

And btw, I enjoy my life, don't get me wrong, even though i analyse things. I can analyse things in bad ways, but there are also a lot of times where i can see the good things in it too. I often get too many ideas and end up being confused and which one i believe.. Oh well.. Thanks :)

Get on with life , it's not meant to be scrutinized to the microscopic level, it's meant to be enjoyed....
