Is it normal to opt for sensible,instead of attraction,in a mate?

I've always been seriously attracted(I mean fighting the urge reinact axe commericals in the middle of lectures, attracted)to the opposite of me being:the lowner,leather boy, even occasional gangster type who openly checked you out. But I never allowed myself to even ponder the idea dating one of these. Rather than shake the cage, I ALWAYS choose someone safe, secure,similar,frat boy at 15; basically Dull. Well Is it normal? To be attracted to someone opposite of you but, always choose someone similar,safe, and sensible?

    If we talk about evolutionary biology, the optimal solution is for the woman to have sex with the attractive and sexy bad boy and have a baby with him, after which she tricks the nice guy to raising the baby for her. I know, it sounds evil, doesn't it?

    Like what previous posters have already said, you are doing something very sensible. It's not exactly a secret that chicks dig the bad boys, but it's not exactly a secret either that they are not marriage material. You want a healthy marriage? Then you go for the sensible nice guy.
