Is it normal to only remember bad memories?

Is it normal to only really remember past events in my life and vaguely remember some good ones? It seems the bad ones are so sharp and clear in my mind, yet I struggle to remember anything good or fun. I hope this isn't confusing and makes sense. So is it normal? Or is something wrong with my memories? :/

I don't think it's normal. Most people remember more good than bad memories. Our brains suppress the traumatic events in our lives... so no, I don't think it's normal.

If you're seeing a shrink or a therapist, it would be a good idea to mention this to them.

Do you have anxiety or anything? It could be caused from that. It's normal for bad memories to stick out over good ones, but it seems like you are over worrying about them maybe. That could be an issue.

As Mr. Viking said, the bad ones stick out more. Even if you've experienced a lot of good things in your life, you tend to remember the bad ones. Sometimes your brain exaggerates, adds or changes memories to make the bad ones worse. And overthinking eventually leads you to bad memories.
