Is it normal to only buy generic brands when possible?

I'm very price aware, and I love store brands. Why pay more for an expensive brand of product X when it's pretty likely they're made in the same factory as the generic brand?

Yeah, I'll usually do it if it's an option. Except for most foods. Generic cheetos tastes nothing like cheetos.

Some items, like paper towels and mouthwash I don't mind. But most of the generic brand food products taste pretty crappy when compared to the well known ones. The extra $0.15 saved isn't worth it.

They wouldn't sell generic brands if nobody was buying them. You're normal.
