Is it normal to only be friends with older people?
It's like I can't find any friends my age. But when someone who is 60+, I can connect with them easily and become immediate friends. I don't understand why I am like this. I am only 19 years old!

I think older people can be easier to connect with because they are more laid back, worldly and not so moody or cliquey or lost in the world as some younger people are. But that said you maybe have just had bad luck within your own age group.
There shouldn't really be any kind of divide between any age group, 60 year olds are just grown up or old kids like yourself. One day you'll be old too hopefully!
It is quite possible you like an older person because he or she is just a great person, great people can be any age. So can crap people. Perhaps you've just met some rotten people your own age.
Possibly, older people can be less threatening for reasons mentioned elsewhere, when your not in competition with them or vying for sexual attention, it can be a very liberating atmosphere to conduct a friendship in.
I'd say its very healthy to have older friends, so long as they are friends and not merely a kind of delusion you might hold that they are safer to be around - that would be naive and potentially patronizing. I'd say, make friends with whoever your attracted to, but don't discard the idea that you could be just as good friends with someone your own age, when that young person shows up, be ready to give them a chance.
I have a 60 year old friend online I talk to. They said im not like most people my age. I am not sure how normal it is though.
Well, I have A LOT of older friends, but no one quite as old as 60 =P
But, I think it is normal. If you make a friend, it doesn't matter their age just as much as it doesn't matter their race or gender.
Enjoy your friendships whilst you have them!
They're a whole different generation, raised in a whole different world then what we have now. I find it fascinating to listen to the stories of their lives to understand how they came to be where they are. It's too bad more people don't listen... because some people could stand to learn a thing or two.
Im 14 and I only hang out with people who are 15-god old! Older people just get it you know!
totally normal, i'm almost 19 myself and find it way easier and much more better getting along with people way older than me. My neighbors are 25-30 and we hang out heaps!! I even like old people( so long as their not grumpy lol) Older people are way more mature and wise, and I believe some can be more honest than the everyday teen. You don't have all that bitchy non-sense going on that usually is a package deal when having teenage friends unless you find one/few that are different to the rest.
