Is it normal to often sleep on the floor?

Often times, I try to sleep in my mattress and it is too soft (or something). I had a bed that was more uncomfortable, but then I got a new one so maybe it's just psychologival and not the mattress. But often times I end up sleeping on the floor next to me bed with one of my pillows and a sheet. It is carpet, but I would feel alright sleeping on hard wood also. Do any of you do this also?

No, it's not normal to sleep on the floor, because the floor is too hard which may cause back pain. I also slept on the floor without the mattress but my doctor told me to sleep on the soft mattress and it really helped me to get relief from back pain.

I have a very hard mattress, which I love! I know how you feel about sleeping on something too soft, even if it is a couch! And I do love sleeping on the floor, I once spent an entire summer on my living room floor, let's just say it was the best floor sleep ever. Sleeping on the floor is completely normal, I know a few people who prefer the floor to their bed.
Did you grow up camping? That's probably where my fondness for hard floors sprang up!

Most people sleep on a bed regardless.

Depending on the level of inebriation, the floor can often be the best place. Although I remember one night where gravity appeared to be acting in many different and confusing directions all at the same time, I genuinely did fall off the floor. Or, rather, onto it. I'd merely thought I was on the floor before I fell. After I fell, then I was. I'm glad that kind of thing can only happen once at a time.

I love sleeping on the floor. Sometimes I find it more comfortable than a bed. It is normal.

I sleep on the floor everynight because I have no matress. So forgot what one feels like. I just put a blanket on the floor as cushion and I sleep like a baby. But it's not good for the back

I thought it was, on the contrary, good to the back to sleep on a hard surface. Only hearsay so, not like I really know.
