Is it normal to offend my mother in law after she tries to manipulate me and my family to take control over my son and how i live my life?
Yeah, I agree with above poster. They have no say in what happens in your immediate family, as much as they'd like to. My family is the same way. My immediate family is happy an has virtually no problems, but extended family wants to find imaginary problems and dramatize them and then broadcast them around the world. They want their own little soap-opera, but we won't give it to them. So they make one up. It's totally frustrating.

Your mother in law, father in law, cousins, and anyone else needs to hear this, "I love you but you have no say in what goes on in our family. Your criticism and advice is not welcome"
^It sounds like a super nova shit storm waiting to happen (and maybe it will) but in the end you'll be creating more peace than conflict.
