Is it normal to obsess over what i eat?

Everytime I eat I look at the calories. I try to eat healthy. But I just can't. Food is all I think about it and my favorite thing to do is eat. I can't wait to get home and eat. Does everyone feel like that? Or just me?

I have reasonably healthy eating habits as opposed to the past, but I still obsess over food sometimes. It seriously feels like I'm battling an addiction to food.

Think higher quality food not "healthy food" fills you up quicker, tastes better, and doesn't make your body sick. Higher nutrition keeps the body running smooth and is easier for your body to break down for use. It does cost more though.

Watch out for products added to food break this system, e.g. MSG. It covers up the taste and is a central nervous system stimulant. Your body has a natural On/Off chemical signal that is suppressed.

Essentially cutting calories and eating the wrong type of food will starve your body. This will force you back to old habits. Read about different perspectives on eating and problems in the food industry. The more you learn the more in control of your weight you will feel.

  • Sounds like you are obsessing over food. People can form an obsession out of practically anything and food is a common focus. If your food obsession is causing you problems like obesity, perhaps you need to seek counseling about it. Are you substituting food for a relationship? A child? A career? What is your real motivation to over eat?
