Is it normal to obsess over fictional characters?

I really like fictional characters that won't and don't exist, like Murdoc and
2-D from Gorillaz, Batman, superman etc

Funny thing is that Murdoc is the name I tried to use when I came up with my username for the first time for Runescape, I was 8 and spelled it the best I could, close enough.

How much like? Like, normal likeness or affection or does your thoughts revolve around these characters or what? At a certain point it becomes unhealthy to get too attached to fictional beings. Your mind will begin to crave their attention and interaction, but it'll never come. Maybe weeaboos have experienced this effect with their waifus.

    • Thanks, I just don't know how to stop being so obsessed with fictional characters. It's annoying.

I think that maybe you could try interacting with real people to form attachments with them instead. It sounds cliche, I know, but it's honestly the best way to reduce the obsession with fictional beings. I have social anxiety, so I've been there.
