Is it normal to not wear panties when you wear pants or leggings?

so one day me and my best friend were getting ready to go somewhere and the only place we could change was in my room. So i said to my friend we can change in front of each other we are girls...so she asked if she could wear my jeans & i remembered her telling me a week ago that she doesn't wear panties when she's wearing pants, leggings, or shorts. I told her if she wanted to wear my pants she would have to wear underwear. so she changed into her panties. that she had in her purse. and i asked why she didn't wear panties. she said a lot of girls do it & its normal. so i was wondering is this normal? i think its pretty weird.

    i always wear panties and leggins rock if you look stupid in them it is probably better if you dont wear them then

    I've only met one girl who admitted not to.
    I'd gone with my boyfriend to visit his hometown. We met a couple of his old friends and decided to go to the beach that night. It was warm so we decided to go wade in the water. I rolled up my pants, another went in in her panties the other girl stayed on the beach, "I'm wearing shorts, I never wear panties with shorts... Don't you?" We gave her stunned looks.

    I hate leggings, so first I'll say: throw them out. Everyone looks stupid in them.
    Pantie lines are just as bad though, which is why many girls skip them.
    However I'd ALWAYS wear them with shorts. Shorts show enough, you'll want panties there in case..
