Is it normal to not want to share my surgery details?

I recently had major surgery. I'm out of hospital now, and the first question nearly every person asks is, "Who was the surgeon?" (I live in a small city, so there's only a handful of surgeons). I also get asked how big the scar is, how many incisions there were, and can they see the scar. I don't feel like sharing ANY of this information. Its nobody's business imo. I especially don't get why the name of the surgeon is so interesting? :/ Just wondering if I am normal to want to keep this information to myself and just my close friends or family.

I don't blame you for feeling this way. People's curiosity is normal to an extent. It becomes a problem when they start to trespass into personal matters. Tell them how you feel. Tell them firmly that it is none of their damn business.

Of course. I wouldn't tell them either if i didn't feel comfortable with it. That's like people always asking how much money you make or something. That's MY business, so but out already!

But, did it hurt though :P

None of their business, unless you want them to know.
Usually just gossip. Or tell em everything is OK, thanks for asking.
