Is it normal to not want to login?

I have been using the internet and social networking sites since 1998. I started my own forum in 2003. For some reason I have been avoiding my website and all social networking sites like facebook myspace since 2008. I havent even logged in to them! When I think about logging on to do anything I get intense anxiety. My website is still up but I have moderators take care of it and they call me of they need anything. I make my domain payment once a year over the phone. Just thinking about logging into a forum or social networking site makes me feel intense anxiety.

I use the internet at work all day. This only happens with my own personal accounts. I am only 23 years old and I am on prescription meds for depression/anxiety but this intense feeling hasnt gone away. Is this normal? What should I do? Please help.

Do you know why you're afraid to log into your own accounts? Of course you do. So, are those fears realistic? Maybe not but it doesn't make them less frightening - for whatever reason- just decide one way or the other, log in and see or just let it go. You don't have to log into all of them the same day, try one, see how you feel? Nothing can harm you through the screen, no one can see your face your eyed your feelings. You are safe. You also don't have to do anything you don't want to, especially for social acceptance. Take your time, do what's right for you in your own time. GL friend :)

So, just think about what it is that makes you anxious to log in to these sites. At least then you'll know the reason for it. Going on the internet all of the time can be useless anyway.

Yes, this happens to me too. I have just left site for no particular reason because of it.

I'm not too sure of why I feel like this, but I think it's connected with my "disappearing" (see story on my account.) For me, it's about wanting to be left alone, and getting anxious when thinking about having contact with others. Why do I feel this way? I've got a few ideas. You tell me, I'm not up to psychoanalysing myself right now heh...

I am not sure I agree with the last comment. Internet sites can harm you - obviously not physical damage, but your thoughts andfeelings can come back to haughty you. You need to beaware that what you say on your social network could follow you for along time.

However you should also note, you had to login to this service to post your question
