Is it normal to not want to be with someone, because of that?

I started chatting with a guy a few years ago in Skype. We talked a lot and got to know each other very good. We had a lot in common. He sent me a photo of him and he looked better that in person(as cruel as that may sound). And then we decided to meet in person. We went out for a walk and he was a gentleman - he paid the bill, he opened the door for me. But I don't want anything with him because..., well, he's not very handsome, he's shorter than me, and also he's 9 years older than me. Is it normal? (I apologize in advance for any mistakes, or bad grammar, because English is not my native language)

Yeah, go with what the heart says, not the eyes.

That's understandable, you can't control who you're attracted to. Apparently you just don't feel a romantic connection. It's okay if you just want to stick to friends with him.
