Is it normal to not tip the pizza guy
I don't tip the pizza guy. I order from there every week.
1. Am I an asshole?
2. Do you think the guy spits in my food?
3. If he spits in my food and I don't know it, does it matter?

If I were your pizza delivery guy, I'd shit in the box first, flatten it out with a roller then put the pizza on top of it.
wow. not tipping the pizza guy is less normL than lusting for your grandpa
I'm not gonna say you're an asshole because I really don't know you. However, that is an asshole move and you should feel like a dick for not leaving a tip. Stop thinking about yourself and realize that this pizza guy likely makes less than minimum wage. Part of the money he is expected to make comes from tips. So, from now on stop being selfish and at least give the guy a couple extra bucks. Sometimes I even give a bigger tip if the service is good. Same goes for waitresses, waiters, and other servers.
1. Yes, I believe you are an asshole! The guy drives crazy all over town, delivering hot pizzas. He deserves a tip! Besides. If you were the pizza guy, you'd like a tip wouldn't you.
2. If I was the pizza guy, I'd run your pizza over with the car (make it look like crap) and then give it to you.
Why in the world wouldn't you want to tip someone you deal with every week?
That seems just plain stupid. Wouldn't you want your pizza delivered first and warm instead of last, and cold? It's kinda a no brainer as I see it, hell I'd even give him a beer once in a while!
I WISH I could get food delivered to the boat, every once in a while; at any price!
I never tip the pizza delivery person. Tipping is not a big thing in New Zealand.
But in the U.S. it's pretty much essential. Delivery people/waiters/etc. get most or sometimes even all of their pay from tips.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in America employers age allowed to pay some workers lower than minimum wage because it is assumed they will be able to make it up through tips.
I know, it's a ridiculously fucked up system. In the UK I rarely tip, but if I went to America I would.
Yup. Waiters and waitress make about $3.50 an hour, the rest is tips, and often have to give a percentage of their tips to the bus boys/girls. Not sure about pizza people though but I try to tip generously.
How can these people be contracted out of minimum wage? Is there such a provision in US labour laws to allow Employers give them such ridiculously low wages?
Now I know this, if I'm in the US, I will certainly tip these people.
Birds have no use for money unless they use the bills to fill their nests.
I always tip a minimum of $2, unless I'm literally scraping change off the bottom of the rainy day jar to afford it. One time the pizza arrived 20 minutes early, though, and I gave that driver a $10 tip.
Anyway, it's considered polite to tip, and it does make you -kind- of a dick that you never do. At least try to tip every few times, or act like you just really can't afford to tip them. Be apologetic about it. Act like you regret it, and offer to tip them twice as much next time you can afford it. Then, once or twice, -actually do it-.
He probably doesn't spit in your food, but he's surely not careful with it. Ever get the cheese stuck to the top of the box, or all on one half of the pizza?
Yes. We've all done it and felt bad. The real question is whether or not it's okay.
I usually try to tip the pizza guy 3 to 5 dollars as long as he shows up at the specified time. There was a pizza guy my friend use to work with who use to put magic mushrooms on pizzas asa prank and a 8 year old kid ate a piece of the pizza. I am not sure how true that story was. He did a lot of mushrooms though.
