Is it normal to not talk to family

My family makes no effort to try and talk to me. (besides my sister.) my dad died a couple years ago, and even before that it was still the way it is now. I make tons of effort but it's like I'm talking to a wall. Does this happen to anyone else?

    family or not, why would talk to people you have no interest in? if they don't bring anything to you and you can't help them either, move on. your real family are people that can relate to you on an emotional and spiritual level.

    I dont its normal not to talk to family no. Keep in mind i said not talk though, not "fight" lol. But i dont say much to my family either. And my sisters dont even like me soo..

    This is normal. I'm almost exactly this way. My father also died a couple of years ago but even since then my family hardly talked to me but I didn't mind. I liked the quietness and privacy.
