Is it normal to not take lesbians seriously?

Alright probably going to get a little hate here. However is it just me or do other people have trouble taking lesbians seriously? For some odd reason when i see two gay men together i feel it is more sincere however when i see two lesbians together i feel like they are almost doing it to simply be cool. Maybe all the e-tart/rave going bi curious girls ruined it for the others?

If some of you seriously think that gay male relationships can be legit but not lesbian relationships because male culture has completely sexualized the idea of lesbians, you're ignorant. Try forming your opinions based on something other than reality tv and attention whoring bitches you knew in college. Be reasonable.

  • That's because you're thinking about the girls in high school/college. Most of them are just seeking attention.

I don't really have trouble taking them seriously, I just don't care about how they choose to live their lives. They can do whatever that makes them happy.

I like both so im bi I really don't see a difference you can't tell people are unless then tell you plus it's their opinion their not seeking attention it's just their style

I know what you mean, my best friend is a dyke who don't care about attention, she just plain likes girls. Her girlfriend however...I'm not too sure of because she doesn't seem like the biggest lesbian, but also isn't doing it for the attention. She won't kiss or hold hands I'm public, and even though like 99% of people who have interacted with her know, she likes to act like it is some big secret.

Not sure why it matters whether or not two people are together only to be "cool" unless I'm one of those two people and I suddenly realize that the other chick is only with me to climb higher on the social ladder and that would mean me being with her could cause my social status to decrease and then we'd have a serious problem dammit.

I take lesbians seriously (especially since I know quite a few and know that they aren't just doing it for show), but I don't take any of the bi / bi-curious people seriously. I don't know why though.

Fact: 47.5 percent of statistics are made up on the spot.

I can't take this thread seriously. There is not a single shred of evidence to prove lesbians are fake except for stupid male egos. Get over yourselves.

You know, I think it is normal, and guess what, I'm a lesbian. Simply that, I have a girlfriend I am madly in love with for 3 years so far.

And still, I don't take many lesbians seriously.

I see people trying for attention only if being bi-curious. Otherwise, being "lesbian" they are just trying things out, that they really don't need to do, I mean.. You know what you like and don't like before you try it sometimes.

I don't think a girl has to date a girl to see if she's a lesbian, just like a girl doesn't have to date a guy to be sure she's straight either.

But there are girls who still want to try, like they just don't know.

So you have good reasoning to not take it seriously, but I think you can see when a couple is well, a legit couple.

If you really are going to laugh at everyone elses relationships saying its fake that means that no one should take yours serious either. Meaning every-time you date a guy or gal you are simply going to be labeled a slut/dog. Would you really like that?

I've had a friend tell me she's cool with me being gay, but that she doesn't trust lesbians. I think because she's a women, she may feel more threatened or afraid of other women being attracted to her or something.

  • I honestly don't believe any girl when they say they're a lesbian. If anything, I feel that girls who are lesbians just take advantage of the thought that two girls making out is hotter and more socially acceptable than two men going at it. Also practically every lesbian i know is the biggest bitch in the world. I may not be the nicest guy in the world but even i treat people better than them to be honest.

  • Yeah...no.

Fact: 99% of people who are "bi" are pretending to be for attention.

    • EXACTLY. I was just going to say that. It's pathetic and it makes the real lesbians look like they're faking it, too.

From what I've seen if a man is gay they are gay true and simple. But with women they can switch back and forth easier. I can't be sure but I believe it has to do with brain chemistry. Still I see no problem with either, whatever works for you.
