Is it normal to not sweep?

Is it normal to not own a broom at all? Like instead of sweeping, to swifter the dirt in the kitchen to the corner of the room or to just vaccum the floor? My boyfriends father does this and I find it very odd. Just curious as to how many other people are this weird about their cleaning habits. I was brought up to sweep the kitchen floor because it cleans better.

    I know a lot of people who have traded in their brooms for Swiffers. These are the same people who use paper plates for dinner. They are useful, for now. But then you have to go and buy a new future garbage item just to make it work. All because you are too busy/lazy to clean.

    Men are different than women. We're only partially domesticated. Which is a euphemism for lazy.
