So a couple of months ago I was in my parents room, and my dads phone vibrates..I look down to see he has a text message from my mothers best friend. The whole conversation was no doubt sexting, saying extremely vulgar dirty things that I'd rather not repeat. I honestly couldn't believe it at first, but then I saw texts from my mom on his phone...ABOUT them sexting, and her telling him things to say, and how they're going to try and get me out of the house so they can sneak her into the bedroom. I was absolutely disgusted and refused to go anywhere and sure enough, along comes this woman, thinking I'm stupid not knowing whats going on, and trying to make her way into the bedroom to sleep with MY DAD, while myself, and my younger siblings are home. I know what youre thinking...maybe they just wanted a threesome, but nope, my mom was downstairs the entire time this woman tried to come into their room, of course I didn't let it happen, I even got into a serious fight with my mom because I was "embarassing her" and thats her "best friend", she tried to make me think I was stupid but I'm not falling for any of that. Whats worse is both my parents didnt in the slightest way use to be like this...until this woman came into their lives, but i guess people are never what they seem. I'm also aware by now that there is nothing I can do to stop it, I've lost my trust and respect for them, and they can see that but I still see them talking to this woman, and hanging out with her away from the house.

IS THIS NORMAL?!! because I'm pretty freaking sure it isn't.

    Are you kidding me? What kind of role models are those parents portraying to their kids? If they are even close to being an adult you'd think twice of doing this kind of crap in your own home! And no it's not all right either outside your home.

    Bullshit like this just strengthens my disbelief in marriage.

    Talk to them about getting some serious therapy. About marriage, parenting and the difference between what's wrong and right.

    I'm sorry for you, really! But what two consenting adults do in their bedroom is between them, not them AND their kids. And if that means bringing a third person into the mix, as long as your mom KNOWS , it's their business. Again, I wouldn't be apart of such things, but as said above, different strokes for...but they should have protected you from knowing, period!

    Don't try and stop things you don't fully understand. You said your mum new what was going on and was fine with it. Who knows mum or dad might have a wierd fetish. How would you like it if you were having a guy over and your parents were fine. But your siblings wouldn;t let him in. Talk to them about it before you jump to assumptions.

    it's not really normal but in all honesty it doesnt really concern you... if he was doing this and your mom had no idea, then yeah, but she is aware and ok with it, whatever kind of sex life they want to persue is they're choice, different strokes for different folks.

    Your dads a pig and hopefully if your a boy you will learn to treat women better than he is treating your mother. No, this is not normal, but i am wondering if you misintpreted the texts from your mother a bit. It is likely your mother knows or suspects, based on evidence, but your dad pulled out some bullshit story that she is in denial of. She may have been antogonizing him in the texts, like 'go ahead get your slut' etc. What is sad is that your dad is willing to sacrifice his family for sex, which doesnt make him a bad person, just a dumb and shortsighted one.
