Is it normal to not meet your friends?

There are some person's at school that I like and consider my friends, they're all very different from eachother and seem to lead happy lives. It seems that in their eyes I am their friend as well, a person who to meet is pleasant (I'm sure about this, I studied their behaviour and reactions for quite some time).
However, I haven't spent even a single second of my freetime with one of these persons and I don't really like mass-group-drinking-ceremonies (also called parties) at all so I rarely visit those and don't meet them there either.
I can live with that, maybe I'm introverted.
Now what I'm asking is:
Is it normal for a modern living human to have no close friends?

For me it is normal. I do it all the time actually. But humans are creatures who thrive on social needs as well. Even I, proven introverted by the MBIT test, still sometimes feel the need to go out and meet people I know.

Do you mean for you it's normal to meet your friends all the time or for you it's normal to NOT meet your friends all the time?

To not meet them. Sorry for the vague part of my comment.
