Im a guy and i dont like weddings at all i mean i dont even like to listen to this word and dont even like to listen people talking about it,basically i hate everything related to it like everything i cant even see it and i dont go to weddings at all i just cant stand it if i hear something like this in my neighborhood i just shut all my room windows so that i dont hear anything and i dont like to tell people about it coz everytime they say "oh somethings wrong with you it normal this and that" so is it not normal??

    The #1 reason I believe the general population attends wedding ceremonies for can be described in 2 words:

    1. Free
    2. Food

    My husband and I did not have a wedding.

    For one, it is a waste of money. That whole, "It's my day to be a princess!" mentality is retarded. Every day is my day, because I fucking rock. I don't need a big expensive cake or a huge gaudy ceremony to know that my husband and I have a special relationship and will have a good life together. I'm not a princess, though. Princesses don't really exist =/

    I think it's unnecessary and outdated. Let's be realistic, here. We're not all rich, and that money (for many couples) could be better used as... I don't know... a down payment on a house? Weddings themselves, I am fine with, but when people are making a big deal about having the fabulous wedding... I don't understand that. Tedious and unnecessary. Celebrate your marriage with sex. All of the time. Like I do.

    Besides, my family is mainly matriarchal... with a reputation for being very negative. Negative women normally tend to gravitate towards asshole men. My husband is not an asshole, in fact, he is just a few degrees off sainthood. And he's a nerd - yes, he is not a body-building jock asshole like the bulk of my exes, he is an imaginative and intelligent guy and conversation with him is always intellectually stimulating, this makes him a poor catch in the eyes of my family. I must marry the ALPHA-MALE like they did, and look at how happy those alcoholics are!

    I can't stand weddings (or funerals) either. Marriage im ok with, just the ceremony I loath.

    I generally don't like weddings either and its hard to make people understand, especially when they invite me to their wedding and i have to try & find a way out. On the other hand, I have crashed a couple of weddings and I had a blast with people I didn't even know.

    I haven't been to one, so I wouldn't know, but I've heard that the party after the wedding is pretty fun. It's probably normal, though.
