I was with my now ex gf at the movies and she gave me a blow job, I was so excited but when she did it, I felt almost no pleasure and it almost seemed akward to me. I know it's every guys dream to get head on the first date like I did, but I don't like it, is it normal?

Different women have different techniques. Blow jobs are my favorite thing and, yet, I've had girlfriends who were not good at it and I'd rather not have one at all than to have one that wasn't done properly. Some women WANT to do it and if they are doing something you don't like or not doing something you like, you can coach them a bit simply by telling them, (either after or during - both can be effective). Getting you off gives them pleasure; so they're likely to want to make you think/say, "That was AMAZING!" And because of that, it's an easy, natural thing to communicate what you like/don't like with them.
So maybe try it in a more private place; where you're both more relaxed, (though the public thing can be super exciting!), and have more freedom of movement and can talk before, during and after. I'm guessing it'll be better next time and even better after that!
